From geriatric medicine to radiation oncology, physicians at Kaiser Permanente are named top of their field.
DENVER — “I’ve always been a healthy person so when I was told I had bladder cancer I was shocked. I wanted to understand this diagnosis and get treatment as quickly as possible so I could get back to enjoying my retirement,” said Bob Ghormley, a Kaiser Permanente Medicare member in Colorado.
“The people who cared for me knew what I wanted and needed. I’m in remission now and able to enjoy more time with my family — time I may not have had if not for the fast work of my doctors.”
Ghormley’s experience is just one example of why doctors at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado are consistently recognized for providing exceptional care. For instance, 5280 Magazine — a local magazine — just named 121 physicians from the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, one of the state’s largest medical groups, which serves the 550,000 members of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado to the 2021 Top Doctors list.
“It’s been a difficult 16 months for all front-line care providers — these are unprecedented times. Having so many of our dedicated, talented physicians honored as 5280 Top Doctors serves as a bright spot and provides a well-deserved moment of recognition,” said Jeff Krawcek, MD, president and executive medical director of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group.
To be selected as a Top Doctor, 5280 asks local doctors which metro-area physicians they’d trust to treat themselves and their families. The ballot is posted on 5280.com from the end of January to mid-March each year, licensed physicians fill out the form, and votes are tallied. The physicians with Kaiser Permanente in Colorado, who represent a wide range of specialties, have earned more than 1,000 Top Doctor designations since 2011.
This year, physicians at Kaiser Permanente make up more than 35% of the 5280 Top Doctors list. Read more about this year’s Top Doctors by visiting 5280.com.
