HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced that it has donated a total of $20,000 to the Kauai Relief and Recovery Fund at Hawaii Community Foundation. The donation will support aid and recovery efforts on the island of Kauai, which was impacted by severe weather, record rain levels and flooding in April.
HCF’s Kauai Relief and Recovery Fund was established to provide immediate aid to communities across Kauai affected by flooding, and assistance to residents who were displaced or lack access to basic necessities including food, water and supplies. In less than one month, the fund has raised $680,000 toward relief and rebuilding efforts, including access to health care, child care, education, legal services and repairs in affected areas.
“Our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve is even more significant now as we witness the devastating damage to Kauai,” said Frank Richardson, vice president of legal, government and community relations at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. “It’s our privilege to join many other businesses and individuals in supporting the Kauai community’s efforts to recover and rebuild in the coming weeks and months.”
Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is also encouraging employees to donate to the HCF Kauai Relief & Recovery Fund to help the Garden Island neighbors.
